4 of us visited had 2 rooms. End of the day visit to Jimmy's Farm and wildlife park. There are no faults with this stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of drinks. We all ordered an evening meal. Well the food was outstanding, all homemade. Went to bed bellys full and satisfied. Cannot fault it again. Well done.
For the price, quite amazing! It's great to see it so busy, and it's bigger on the inside than the outside, bit like Dr Who's TARDIS. We had a mixed family visit of 4 generations on one long table, and all were very pleased by everything. Table red wine was good, and impressed a choosy Great Grandmother who has been living in France. The only slight criticism, and it's just as much our fault as anyone's, we forgot to ask if the 2 lttle children (4 & 1yr) could have theirs first, as this is usually accommodated without asking we got out of the habit of asking & unfortunately they were served last. Lovely landlord/landlady and staff. Very accommodating to a chaotic and confusing mixed up family! Thank you! It's a bit out of the way for us all with 2 couples coming from London, another from Mildenhall, 4 from Stowmatket and another couple from Bury St Eds. but spot on for the occasion of meeting up for a birthday party get together.
From the point of welcome to the the point of departure, an excellent experience and will definitely stay again next time I am near Claydon. I booked late so was in a single bed (not removing marks for my tardiness), but room very comfortable and quite, and heating was brilliant. Breakfast always on point, and dinner was delicious and very filling. Sadly, I had no room for dessert, but next time I will also attack that menu.
Visited the pun on an away game with West Bromwich Albion. A nice older world feel with wooden beams. A good range of beers and pleasant staff that made us all welcome. Toilets on the same level so suitable for wheelchair users. A free car park. Outside seating and play area. Well worth a visit.
Went to the sorrel horse inn for lunch today after a country walk. We had a wonderful experience. The pub was cosy and welcoming. We were offered a couple of options of places to sit, despite not booking. There was a good selection of food to choose from either the menu or specials board. Both meals we ordered were delicious, and the service was fantastic. I very much intend on returning soon.
We have been here several times for a drink or for a meal. It's a traditional old pub, friendly welcome and good food. Plenty of parking & dog friendly. Can't comment on rooms, as didn’t stay.
Fantastic pub we were staying around the corner and went twice for food it was excellent! Home made chips were amazing, had burger first time great portions and lovely. Had steak 2nd time amazing again. Level head ipa was really good too. Prices were very good for the area, if I’m ever back down this way I’ll be popping in.
Absolutely terrific Christmas roast dinner today. Food brilliant, very warm welcome from Landlady, service prompt, friendly staff, and exceptionally good home cooked fare. Highly recommend.
